Two Norwood Residents Charged with Possessing More Than $10,000 worth of Heroin

Norwood Police charged a Norwood couple with drug trafficking after allegedly finding more than $10,000 worth of heroin in the couple’s Norwood Woods home.

Nelson Ortega Maysonet, Jr., 30 of 601 Norwest Drive, and Villar Soleyanni , 30, of the same address, were arrested Thursday after a lengthy investigation by Norwood Police along with Braintree and Stoughton Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Executing a search warrant on the couple’s apartment, police allegedly found more than 100 grams of heroin and $23,000 in cash.

Soleyanni was released on bail. Maysonet, who was wanted on outstanding warrants for past drug crimes, has been held in jail.

The penalty for trafficking heroin is up to 30 years in prison with a minimum mandatory sentence of eight years.
