Victim Identified in Norwood Murder

Anyone with information on who killed Edison Tejeda is asked to call the Norwood Police Department.

NORWOOD, MA - The man who was killed early Monday morning lived at the apartment complex where his murder took place, the Norfolk County District Attorney's office said.

Edison Tejeda, 28, of Stone Bridge Apartments and formerly of Brockton, has been identified as the victim.

Police were called to the scene at about 1:40 a.m. this morning after someone reported hearing gunshots or fireworks at the apartment complex according to the Norwood Police Department.

Several minutes later, officers located Tejeda, who was apparently shot. He was transported to Norwood Hospital where he died a short time later.

District Attorney Michael Morrissey said the shooting does not appear to be random and the victim had relatives in the apartment complex.

The District Attorney's office and the Norwood Police Department are now asking anyone who may have information on the case to come forward. Detectives are currently interviewing Tejeda's friends and family.

“Those who knew Edison Tejeda and may have known his movements in the period before his murder can help us piece together what has happened here,” Morrissey said in a statement Monday afternoon."
