Wallet Leads Police to Break-in Suspect

Police say the suspect in a recent vehicle break-in left his wallet behind.

NORWOOD, MA — Police found a helpful clue while investigating a vehicle break-in around the Winslow Avenue area last Friday.

During the early hours of the day, a victim told police that they heard someone rustling about outside and observed the suspect seated inside their vehicle. After a brief encounter, the male suspect was able to flee away. A cell phone with a flashlight app activated was recovered nearby, police said.

Later that evening, police spoke with an individual on the street who had also had their vehicle broken into. Police were able t0 recover a wallet with an identification card. A witness who had the encounter with the male earlier in the day was able to identify the individual pictured on the ID as the suspect.

The suspect, whose name has not been release, will be summons to court and charged with two counts of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle and two counts of larceny under $250.
