• Orange house fire leaves one injured, family with five children safely escapes (shrewsburypost.com) — A June 17 house fire on Oaklawn Avenue in Orange left one person with minor injuries and forced a family with five children from their now-uninhabitable home. Firefighters quickly contained the accidental blaze to a second-floor bedroom, rescued one of two missing cats, and credited the children’s fast actions and 911 call for limiting damage while the Red Cross assists the family.

The organization has stabilized its finances, trained staff, and is now serving hundreds of hot meals weekly across Greenfield, Turners Falls, and Orange for residents needing reliable food support.
