Celebrate Easter; Explore History of Comics, Graphic Novels

There is still time to get those photos of your little ones with the Easter Bunny at the Northshore Mall and plenty of places to enjoy spring.

Where/When: The James E. McVann-Louis F. O'Keefe Memorial Skating Rink, every Friday from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pricing: Children 10 and under cost $3; youth and adults, $5, and skate rentals are $6.

Where/When: Peabody Bikeway entrance is located on North Shore Road behind the Northshore Mall and is open every day..Now that spring is in full swing, this weekend is the perfect time for families to break out their bicycles and cruise up and down the Peabody Bikepath and get some exercise.

Why go: Well-maintained, city facility offers families a safe and enjoyable place to enjoy bicycling.

Where/When: Brooksby Farm is located in West Peabody on Felton Street and is open seven days a week daily.

Why go: Farm offers a quiet, rural setting where families can reconnect with Peabody's agricultural roots, picnic and hike nature trails.

Where/When: The Peabody Institute Library will present a program on Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. titled, "The History of Comics and Graphic Novels."

Why go: Robin Brenner, graphic novel, manga and anime enthusiast will discuss the history of the comic art form, the basic elements of comics, why reading comics is definitely 'real' reading, where to find more information, and how to select the best titles for your own reading.

 Where/When: Northshore Mall, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. This is the last weekend to get your Easter Bunny photos.
