The former Boston Celtic will talk about his experiences as a teenager, athlete, and speaker.

PEABODY, MA - Former Boston Celtic and Massachusetts high school basketball star Chris Herren will speak to students at the Higgins Middle School on Friday, February 5 at 9:00 a.m.
Herren’s story and his redemptive rise from the depths of addiction were captured through the publication of the book, Basketball Junkie and the release of the ESPN Films documentary, Unguarded.
“We are very fortunate to have Chris Herren bring his important message to students at the Higgins Middle School,” said Mayor Ted Bettencourt. “Chris is a very dynamic personality and he is able to relate to students in a way that reaches them at a very personal level. His message is one our students need to hear, particularly at this critical stage in their development.”
