Church Counselor Sentenced for Raping Nashua Boy

NASHUA, NH — A former Christian camp counselor was sentenced to two to six years in prison for raping a Nashua boy.
David Johansen, 28, of North Andover, Mass., recently pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault, according to WMUR. He raped the 15-year-old boy in August 2012, police said.

Johansen was a counselor at a Christian camp in Hillsborough, where he met the boy, WMUR reported.
The victim spoke in court during Johansen’s sentencing.

“I don’t believe in God anymore,” the victim said, according to WMUR. “I don’t go to church. I still can’t deal with it ... I have a hard time trusting people.”
Johansen is also accused of abusing boys in Barnstable, Mass. and Seekonk, Mass. from 2007 to 2011, according to Barnstable police. This week, he was sentenced to up to six years in prison on those charges, according to the Cape Cod Times.
In 2014, Johansen was arrested at his father’s house in Peabody on those charges, according to the Cape Cod Times.
