Downtown Peabody International Festival Back For 38th Year In 2023

Mayor Ted Bettencourt said the Progeria International Race for Research will be on Sept. 9 with the day-long festival set for Sept. 10.

PEABODY, MA —A weekend of festive food, music and a downtown road race returns to Peabody this fall with the 38th annual International Festival set for Sept.9 and Sept. 10.

The Progeria International Race for Research will be on Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. with the International Festival set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 10.

"The International Festival is Peabody's signature community event and the biggest party on the North Shore," Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt said. "It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our ethnic and cultural diversity through food, art, and entertainment.

"We are grateful that North Shore Bank will once again be the title sponsor of this year's Festival."

The free festival will spread out along Main Street and include a variety of ethnic foods and dozens of booth vendors. The Galleria Tent on Foster Street will feature North Shore artists, while the Creative Collective is hosting the Artisan Market featuring underserved small businesses and their creations and clothing from all over the work.

There will be two stages downtown to provide continuous entertainment throughout the festival.

A Kid's Corner at the East End Veteran's Memorial Park on Walnut Street will showcase music, arts and crafts, moon bounces, a magician and dancing demonstrations.

The Progeria International Race for Research will include on-site registration at the Leather City Common on Lowell Street begins at 7:45 a.m. The race will feature a 5K road race and a 2-mile fun run/walk.

That event will have awards and refreshments.
