Plant a Seed, Read and Play for Free

The Peabody Family Engagement Center at the Kiley School is holding some special parent and child playgroups Feb. 22 during school vacation week.

The free activities will be held as follows:

  • Parent/Infant group: infants ages birth to 14 months, 9:30-10 a.m.
  • Parent and Toddler/Preschool group: 5 months to 5 years, 10 a.m. - noon.
  • Special school vacation activities for 5- to 7-year-olds, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Plant a seed and read, board games, and arts and craft activities. The playgroups will get down and dirty (in the potting soil that is) to plant some seedlings and read "Jack’s Garden" by Henry Cole.

Moms, dads, and caregivers and their children are welcome. Playgroups allow children to play together and participate in new activities, and develop social skills such as taking turns, sharing, cooperating and solving conflicts. Playgroups are also a chance for parents to enjoy each other’s company where they can ask questions, share concerns and meet new friends.
