The Peabody Recreation Department will sponsor a weekly indoor rock-climbing club Wednesdays, starting Nov. 30 to March 28, 6-8 p.m., at MetroRock, 40 Parker St., Newburyport. Open to grades 7 to 12. Cost: $12, for first practice.
The department will provide instruction and all needed equipment. Meetings will last two hours, and focus on the fundamentals of climbing. Rock-climbing is a sport on the rise, and it's no wonder considering the benefits it offers to one's strength, flexibility, fitness and self-confidence.
