Earlier this year the Peabody Area Chamber was concerned that the federal regulations implementing the national health care law would force the closure of the Chamber Health Coop. We are happy to share that Chamber Health Coop will continue into 2014 under a transition plan that Massachusetts negotiated with the federal government. Businesses that buy their insurance coverage through the Chamber Health Coop in 2013 will receive the full 3% discount on their premiums. Next year businesses will still be able to receive 2/3 of the discount.
Nearly 1,400 people received insurance through the Coop in May.
