Life and Poetry of Anne Bradstreet to be Celebrated

Peabody Historical Society program at Smith Barn will look at first published North American poet's work and life in early America.

The will present a lecture “The Life & Poetry of Anne Bradstreet," which will focus on Bradstreet's work and what life was like in early America.

The program will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Smith Barn on 38 Felton St. and Susan Lenoe, an actress and historian, will play the role of Bradstreet.

Bradstreet was the first published poet of North America and the story of Bradstreet's life reveals a courageous and very gifted woman and sheds light on the history of this very early period of life in America.

The presentation will be an interactive conversation, sprinkled with Bradstreet's poems and thoughts. Members free; non-members $5.
