Malden Man Faces Drug Charges After Fleeing Peabody Police

Patch has details on that and other arrests made by Peabody Police over the holiday weekend.

PEABODY, MA -- A 19-year-old man tried to outrun Peabody Police during a motor vehicle stop on Swampscott Avenue at 11:11 pm Saturday. Keone Boone, 19, of Malden, was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning on charges of possession of a class A drug with intent to distribute, possession of a class B drug with intent to distribute, possession of a class C drug with intent to distribute, possession of a class D drug with intent to distribute, two counts of failure to stop or yield, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.

Keone and an unnamed passenger fled their vehicle on foot after being stopped on Swampscott Avenue. Both were captured a short time later near the Welch School in Peabody.

  • Richard M. Madruga, 65, of 103 Central Street Apt. #G1, on Friday following a disturbance call at his residence. Madruga was charged with attempted murder, two counts of strangulation or suffocation, two counts of assault and battery on a family member and threat to commit a crime.
  • At 1:04 am on Saturday, police arrested David R. Scott, 41, of 8 Eagan Place, on a charge of evading a taxi fare and an outstanding warrant.
  • At 5:10 pm on Saturday, a Lowell Street resident called to report that an unknown male tried to gain entry to his house through a window. The homeowner chased the suspect onto Lowell Street. The responding officer arrested Matthew Martin 33, of Millbury, on two outstanding warrants.
  • At 8:50 am on Sunday, police arrested Robert A. Bouffard, 67, homeless, on charges of shoplifting and trespassing at the Shaw's on Andover Street.
  • Police responded to a 10:48 am call on Sunday about a vehicle that had nearly struck another on Route 128 and had exited at Centennial Drive. Police arrested Christine D. Kowalczyk 55, of 26 Sandra Road, and charged her with OUI - Liquor (second offense), open container and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Following a motor vehicle crash into a stone wall on Bartholomew Street at 11:10 am Sunday, police arrested Michael M. Defelice, 19, of 4 Randall Road, and charged him with OUI - Drugs, failure to use care in stop/turn/back, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Following a motor vehicle crash at the Buddha's Tavern on Washington Street, police arrested Robert J. Adamczewski, 44, of 55 Holten Street Apt. #1, and charged him with OUI - Liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
