New Restaurants Are Coming To Downtown Peabody

Take a look at the restaurants that are coming and going in Peabody.

PEABODY, MA -- First the bad news: Mike and Lil’s Black Sheep Pub and Grill Restaurant is on the way out after a five-year stint as a cornerstone of the downtown Peabody restaurant scene. The good news is that the space won;t be vacant long, as Zwu’s Asian Cuisine, an Asian and sushi restaurant, is finalizing places to take over the space and Black Sheep's special permit, liquor and entertainment licenses.

Zwu’s joins Granite Coast Brewery as the newest eating and drinking places that are set to open downtown this summer, according to the Lynn Item, which first reported this story. City Council gave final approval to Granite Coast's plan for a tap and tasting room last week.

While not new to the local restaurant scene, Brodie's Pub and La Siesta of Winthrop will occupy street-level space in the redeveloped building at 1 Main Street. Another Mexican restaurant, The NexMex Thing, is moving from Lowell Street to Main Street in a space next to granite Coast.
