No Bail For Suspect In Peabody Restaurant Stabbing
The victim in the Century House stabbing remains in critical condition following Sunday's attack.

PEABODY, MA -- The man accused of stabbing a co-worker at the Century House restaurant in Peabody Sunday afternoon is being held without bail following his arraignment Monday. Rogerio Silva Thomaz Dos Reis, 18, of Peabody, pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery. His father, Rogerio Teixeira, 54, of Peabody was charged with helping his son flee and is being held on $5,000 bail.
Citing court records and police reports, the Salem News reported that Dos Reis was wearing multiple layers of clothes and had socks in his pockets, suggesting he was preparing to flee. He is due back in court on Monday for a hearing to determine if he would pose a risk if he is released. The most serious charge, attempted murder, has a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Witnesses told police that Dos Reis, a dishwasher, stabbed the restaurant's head chef after the victim told him he was doing his job wrong.Court papers say the victim, who was stabbed in the abdomen, remains in critical condition following surgery at Mass General Hospital.
