Obituary: Anthony Moskevich, Worked at Eastman Gelatin Corp. For 35 Year

Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1011 of Peabody

Anthony Moskevich, 87, a longtime Peabody resident and a member of “The Greatest Generation”, beloved husband of Nina (Chierepko) Moskevich with whom he shared 66 years of marriage, passed away on Tuesday November 18, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Miami Florida surrounded by his family. He was born in Peabody the son of the late Leventry and Anna (Synkewska) Moskevich and was raised in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School. He left school in his senior year to enlist in the US Navy and went to boot camp in Sampson, NY. He was then assigned to serve on the USS Barton and crossed the pacific to Japan in the final days of WW 11. Following his discharge, he worked at the Eastman Geletine Corp in Peabody for 35 years retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1011 of Peabody and had volunteered his time with the Boy Scout Troop 38. Following his retirement, he summered in Maine and wintered in Florida.

In addition to his wife Nina, he is survived by his son, Anthony Moskevich Jr. of Peabody, and his sons, Andrew Moskevich of Danvers, MA, Lt. Jg Nicholas Moskevich with the US Navy stationed in Japan and his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and John Wright and their daughter Chrissy Wright and many nieces and nephews.

A Service was held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Christ the Savior Cathedral in Miami Lakes, Florida. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Family Lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, with Rev. Theophan Whitfield of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Salem officiating. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Please meet in the parking lot at 10:45 of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody for procession to the family lot at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
