Obituary: Dorothy F. (Connolly) Buckley, Employed at Oliver Tool Co., Made Parts for U.S. Navy During WWII

Lived in Peabody for over 50 years

Dorothy F. (Connolly) Buckley, 91, of Peabody and formerly of Boston and Dorchester, passed away Thursday morning at Continuing Care at Brooksby Village. She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel L. Buckley.Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Helen (Katon) Connolly. She was raised and educated in Boston and Dorchester and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School for Girls. She has lived in Peabody for over 50 years.Dorothy was first employed at the Oliver Tool Company which made parts for the United States Navy during WWII. She later was employed for the Bayco Company in Peabody, and finally before retiring, she worked for 11 years at General Electric in Lynn.Dorothy was a beautiful, caring, and fun person who had a way of making everyone around her feel special and loved. She was deeply devoted to her family, friends and animals. Dorothy was a very faithful and active member at St. Ann’s Church. She is survived by her son James and his wife Elaine Buckley of Billerica, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Buckley of West Newbury, brother Robert Connolly of Weymouth, grandchildren Alyssa and her husband Matthew Giordano of Virginia and Daniel Buckley of South Boston, great granddaughters Ava and Mia Giordano and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Edward Buckley, brothers Edward and James Connolly and sister Helen Stoltz.Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Following her cremation on Tuesday, her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody.
