Obituary: Frances M (Shaw) Lightbown; Employed as a Cook in the Peabody School System For Over 30 Years

Frances M (Shaw) Lightbown, passed away peacefully in Beverly on Tuesday March 31, 2015. She was 85 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Lightbown with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage.
Frances, born in Melrose, was the daughter of Harold and Lucy Shaw. She was raised and educated in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, class of 1947. She has lived in Peabody for the past 60 years.

She was employed in the Peabody School System as a cook for over 30 years before retiring in 1991. In her earlier years she owned a dance studio in Melrose and taught Jazz and Tap.
She was an avid golfer and dancer and enjoyed decorating cakes. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed spending 20 winters in Zephyr Hills, Florida.

She is survived by four loving sons, Alan of Georgetown and his wife Christine, Barry of Bartlett, NH and his wife Donna, Steven of Middleton and his loving companion Josie Osgood, and Brian of Peabody and his wife Mary, and is also survived by her 14 devoted grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Her wake will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody and her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
