Obituary: Josephine R (Gulla) Renda, Lifelong Resident of Peabody

After raising her children, Josephine Renda was a pizza maker at the snack bar at Ann & Hope in Danvers for over15 years.

Josephine R (Gulla) Renda, 88, of Peabody died Tuesday evening at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Renda.

Born in Cohasset, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Vincenza (Andracchio) Gulla. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody.

After raising her children, Josephine was employed for over 15 years at Ann & Hope in Danvers as a pizza maker at the snack bar.

Josephine enjoyed doing arts and crafts, sewing, cooking, baking, playing cards and beano and later enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods Casino. She was a devout catholic who believed in the power of prayer and enjoyed going on church retreats. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph and his wife Kate Renda of Rockport and Robert Renda of Peabody, her daughter, Angela and her husband Jerry McGinn of Ipswich, her beloved six grandchildren, Danielle and her husband Richard Gallegos, Erin and her husband Donald Brown III, Jessica McGinn-Napier and her husband Justin Napier, Sean and his wife Chelsey McGinn, and Sophie and Jackson Renda, her seven great grandchildren, Isabella, Noah, Emma, Madison, Harper, Ella, and Tosh and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, William, John, James, Leo, Joseph, and Angela Gulla, Teresa Liberato and Mary Mustone.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 12:00 PM Noon at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
