Obituary: Mark C. Wood, 52, Massage Therapist; Avid Body Builder

Mark C. Wood, 52, died on Saturday morning January 3, 2015 following an acute illness, at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington, while in the comforting presence of his family.

Born in Woburn, he was the son of Jacqueline (Downey) Fleming of Peabody and the late Sidney Wood. He grew up in Peabody where he attended Schools. He graduated from The Massage Institute of New England, and later from the Lowell Academy of Hairstyling & Cosmetology. He lived in Pepperell for many years.

Mark was an Independent Massage Therapist and also worked at Hannaford Super Market in Townsend. He was an avid body builder and enjoyed living a quiet, simple lifestyle.

He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline (Downey) Fleming of Peabody; two brothers Steven Wood of Peabody and Jeffrey Wood of Lynnfield; two sisters Pamela Wood of Peabody and Patricia Paciulli of Marblehead; two nieces Kerri Ware and Lyndsi Paciulli, and several friends.

A private family gathering will be held following cremation. Cremation service planned with Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
