• Chabad and Peabody schools to bring former Israeli hostage to the North Shore (jewishjournal.org) — Peabody residents can hear former Israeli hostage Omer Shem Tov speak about his 505 days in captivity at a public event at Higgins Middle School on Oct. 6, organized by Chabad of Peabody and Peabody Public Schools. Prompted by recent antisemitic incidents in town, the evening aims to educate the community about hate, promote dialogue, and reserve free seats for Peabody school families.
   

• Man arrested on drug, child endangerment charges in Peabody (newportdispatch.com) — Peabody police arrested a man on Goodale Street on drug trafficking, child endangerment, animal cruelty, and ammunition charges following a six‑month investigation and a court-approved search warrant. Multiple regional departments assisted, and the suspect, previously convicted on related charges from a 2024 search at the same address, is expected to be arraigned in Peabody District Court.
   

• FKO to honor co-founder Debbie Kneeland Keegan's for 40+ years of leadership at annual Helping Families Gala (winthroptranscript.com) — Families in Peabody whose children attend For Kids Only Afterschool programs are invited to an Oct. 23 Boston Harbor gala honoring longtime leader Deborah Kneeland Keegan and raising scholarship funds. Money from the event helps ensure local kids can access before-school, afterschool, and summer care, with sponsorships, tickets, and donations all supporting scholarships for Peabody and neighboring communities.
