Peabody Cares 'Blanket Project' To Distribute 200 Blankets To Students
The blankets will be distributed by the schools over the next week to students in elementary schools, middle school and high school.
PEABODY, MA — Hundreds of blankets will be distributed to Peabody students in need over the next week as part of the new Peabody Education Foundation initiative called "Peabody Cares."
The blanket project will distribute about 200 handmade tie fleece blankets to students across the district.
Welch School teacher Jill Houldon began the project at that school several years ago and this year it expanded throughout the district through the Peabody Education Foundation. Volunteers have come together to help make the blankets over the past several weeks.

Members of the Peabody Veterans girls volleyball and field hockey teams, the Sunday Funday Group, Peabody Public Schools staff members, the Peabody Ancient Order of Hibernians, Stone Paper, GraVoc, Maria Champigny were among those who helped out with blanket assembly.
