Beverly Family Helps Bring Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to Life at North Shore Music Theatre

The Fun and Fast-Paced Musical Runs Through July 19th

It’s a family affair this week at North Shore Music Theatre as three members of the Daly family are all part of the production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, running now through July 19th.

Jay Daly has been working at North Shore Music Theatre as a trumpet player since 1986 and became the musician coordinator in 1991. Jay has performed in almost two hundred productions as a trumpet player and assembled the orchestras for this production, as he has done for well over two hundred others as the musician coordinator.

Jay met Alyssa in 2000 when she was hired as a French hornist for the production of A Christmas Carol. They were married in 2008, and Alyssa has also played in many productions over the last 26 years, including this riveting production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The Daly’s daughter, Adalyn, is one of 24 youth from the North Shore who have been taking classes as part of the theater's education program and being in the production is the culminating event.

The kids make up the choir and are on-stage for about one-third of the show and then sing off-stage for another big chunk of the show. They are broken into two groups of 12 so they split the number of shows they are in.

Adalyn, 15, made her debut as Flotsam, an evil eel, in an education production of The Little Mermaid Jr. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat marks her 10th education production at the theatre.

In addition to Joseph, Adalyn has also appeared in several professional productions at North Shore Music Theatre – A Christmas Carol (four times) and Fiddler on the Roof in 2024.
