Peabody To Host Teen Mental Health Workshop

The program at the Peabody Institute Library will focus on self-care, helping friends with depression and suicide prevention.

PEABODY, MA — Teens are invited to attend a special program at the Peabody Institute Library next month focusing on self-care, mental health, helping peers dealing with depression issues and suicide prevention.

The Samaritans are hosting the program from 3 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 22 designed to help teens understand their emotions and feel less alone.

The workshop will include a safe space for conversations and discussion on suicide myths, suicide prevention strategies, coping skills, identifying trusted adults and what to do when a friend needs help.

The program is open to teens in grades 6 through 12/
