Peabody Independence Greenway Pathway Public Hearing This Week

The state Department of Transportation will host the virtual meeting Tuesday night.

PEABODY, MA — A public hearing on the proposed multi-use pathway connecting Lt. Ross Park and the Independence Greenway trailhead at Peabody Road will be held Tuesday night online.

The state Department of Transportation invites the public to attend the meeting and learn more about the proposed 1.25-mile pathway at Interstate 95 and Route 1.

According to the state, a secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required.

The city is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands.

MassDOT’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be presented in the hearing.
