Peabody Man Accused Of Abandoning Dog In Ipswich

A woman found the dog as it was being chased by coyotes and called animal control after taking it in to safety.

PEABODY, MA — A Peabody man was ordered to not mistreat his three other pets after pleading not guilty Thursday to animal cruelty in Ipswich District Court. Luis Adelino, 55, of 2 Victor Circle in Peabody, was accused of abandoning Farrusca, a seven-year-old mixed breed dog, near the Ipswich transfer station on march 23. A woman found the dog as it was being chased by coyotes and called animal control.

According to the Salem News, Adelino faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. He is due back in court for a pretrial hearing on May 29.
