Peabody Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase With Police
Kristofor Vukaj, 34, of Peabody, has been charged with operating under the influence of drugs, failure to stop for police and more.
PEABODY, MA—A Peabody man is behind bars after police say he led them on a high-speed chase that ultimately ended in a restaurant parking lot where troopers were wrapping up training.
According to The Salem News, Kristofor Vukaj, 34, of Baldwin Street in Peabody, is charged with operating under the influence of drugs, failure to stop for police, speeding, a marked lanes violation, driving to endanger and other traffic charges.
On Tuesday morning, a police officer found Vukaj's car running, the driver's seat reclined and a towel over the car's window. When police approached the driver, later identified as Vukaj, he appeared confused and disoriented, the newspaper reported. As the officer took Vukaj's license, he rolled up the window and sped off eastbound on Route 114 toward Danvers.

Police ultimately called off the chase; however, Vukaj reportedly did not get far.
Ironically, police say Vukaj pulled into the lot of Loui's Roast Beef and Pizza at 470 Broadway in Lynnfield, where state police happened to be debriefing in the parking lot after finishing up a training exercise.

Vukaj was taken into custody by state police and booked into jail. Bail was set at $500.
