
PEABODY, MA -- A Salem Superior Court judged sentenced Christopher Peluso, 44, of 12 Paul Avenue in Peabody, to 3 1/2 t 4 years in state prison following Peluso's guilty plea to charges stemming from a November 2017 carjacking in Saugus. Peluso was arrested in July on charges of carjacking, assault and battery, larceny of a vehicle, larceny of property worth less than $1,200, and witness intimidation.
According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Peluso called a taxi on Nov. 12, 2017 and asked it to wait outside of the Square One Mall in Saugus. Before entering the taxi, he stole three jackets from Dick's Sporting Goods in the mall. While being chased by security guards, Peluso broke the window of the cab and open the door, then drove off. Investigators identified Peluso using blood samples from the broken window.
