Peabody Man Killed In Sunday Night Pedestrian Strike

The Essex County District Attorney's Office identified Robert King, 61, as the victim of the strike on Summit Street.

PEABODY, MA — A Peabody man was killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on Summit Street.

The Essex County District Attorney's Office said Robert King, 61, died from injuries suffered when he was hit by the vehicle at about 7:40 p.m. He was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston where he died early Monday morning.

A moment of silence was held for King, a Beverly Public Schools custodian, prior to the Ryal Side Civic Candidate Forum on Tuesday night.
