Peabody Mayor Will Seek Fourth Term
Less than a year into his current term, Mayor Ted Bettencourt says he wants two more years in office.

PEABODY, MA -- Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt said he plans to run for reelection in 2019. If elected, it would be his first term. After defeating Sean Fitzgerald, former Mayor Michael Bonfanti’s chief of staff, in 2011, Bettencourt has run unopposed in his two reelection bids.
"I truly enjoy the job because I’ve had the ability to make an impact on the community I care about," Bettencourt told the Item, which first reported this story. "My wife and I are raising our four kids here, they attend public schools, and I’ve always believed Peabody had great potential, that we could be a leader in the region."
