Peabody Police End 10-Month Drug Investigation With Arrest
Shawn C. Spaneas, 26, of 50 Warren Street in Peabody, is facing multiple charges after police seized 171 grams of fentanyl and two guns.

PEABODY, MA — Police executed a search warrant at 50 Warren Street in Peabody at 6 a.m. Tuesday, capping off a 10-month investigation into a suspected drug dealer. In a news release, Peabody police said they arrested Shawn C. Spaneas, 26, who lived in the apartment and seized drugs, cash and firearms. Spaneas is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Peabody District Court.
During the raid, Peabody police and the NEMLEC Swat Unit seized 171 grams of Fentanyl, a loaded 38 caliber revolver and a loaded 22 caliber, semi-automatic handgun, 39 rounds of ammunition, $31,460 in cash and drug paraphernalia.
Spaneas was charged with two counts of possessing a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of carrying a firearm without a firearms license (2nd Offense), two counts of improper storage of a firearm, two counts of possessing ammunition without an FID card, trafficking in more than 10 grams of Fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug and unlawful possession of fireworks.
