Peabody Police Warn Of Rash Of Car Break-Ins
Police said Monday morning there has been a "noticeable increase" in thefts of late.
PEABODY, MA — Peabody police are urging residents to take extra precautions to secure their vehicles after a "noticeable increase in car break-ins of late."
Police issued the warning Monday morning along with tips on how to help prevent your vehicle from being a target.
"Your safety and the security of your belongings are our top priorities," police said, "and we need your help to address this issue effectively."

Police advised to always lock an unattended vehicle and make sure windows are closed "even if you're leaving your vehicle for a few minutes."
"An unlocked vehicle is an easy target," police said.

Police also urged residents to talk with neighbors about the increase in break-ins to help increase their vigilance, report any suspicious activity to Peabody police at 978-531-1212 or detectives@peabodypolice.org, and share home security footage with police that includes any suspicious activity.
