Peabody To Raise Pride Flag With Pop-Up Pub In Month Of Special Events
The City Hall ceremony and pop-up pub event both take place on June 11 with a Pride Night at Granite Coast Brewing Company on June 10.
PEABODY, MA — Peabody is looking to make its Pride flag-raising even more festive than usual this year.
The city will raise the flag at City Hall as part of its recognition of LGBTQ+ Pride Month at 5 p.m. on June 11.
That event will be followed by the next edition of the very popular pop-up pub nights from 6 to 9 p.m. in Courthouse Plaza.

"Peabody's commemoration of Pride month grows bigger every year and this year's festivities will have something for everyone," Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt said. "Residents and visitors alike are welcome to Main Street and downtown Peabody as we raise the Pride flag at City Hall and celebrate the history of the LGBTQ rights movement and the LGBTQ community."
On June 10, the North Shore Alliance of GLBTQ Youth will host a Pride Night at the Granite Coast Brewing Company on Main Street from 5 to 9 p.m.

"Our team at NAGLY is excited for another eventful Pride Month in Peabody," NAGLY Program Director Tony Leone said. "These events are a powerful message that the Peabody community stands for the equal rights and acceptance of all LGBTQ people.
"They are also an important way for us to bring people together and spread the word about the vital services we offer across the North Shore."
Friday's brewery event will feature Biscuit Drop selling treats and the Create & Escape Art Studio offering Pride-themed art projects.
"Last year's Pride Night with NAGLY was a wild success and we can't wait for this year's celebration," said Amy Luckiewicz, Granite Coast Brewing Company's Marketing and Events Director. "We are a downtown business where people of all backgrounds are always welcome and we're proud to stand with the LGBTQ community this month and every month."
Granite Coast will also be pouring at the Pop-Up Pup on June 11 where attendees can enjoy craft beer and summer cocktails with music from DJ Jimmy Tilt. Admission is $5 and the Pop-Up Pub area is 21-plus.
"Peabody Main Streets is once again excited to be partnering with and supporting NAGLY during our Pride celebrations this June, raising the flag at City Hall and bringing back Pop-Up Pub to Peabody Square with a fresh new look to celebrate and engage all members of our community for an evening of inclusion, kindness, friendship and love," Peabody Mean Streets Events Manager Lisa Geczi said. "We hope everyone will join us for a fantastic evening and experience everything our downtown community has to offer."
Create & Escape Studio will then also offer two other LGBTQ Pride family art events at Granite Coast. The first will be on June 12 at 2 p.m. and the second will be on June 24 at 7 p.m.
"We are very excited to be partnering with Granite Coast and NAGLY on our workshops for Pride to bring more creative fun for everyone," said Wendy Lattof, Owner of Create & EscapeCreative Studios & Workshops.
Other Pride Month events in the city include Drag Queen Bingo at Peabody's Black Box Theater on June 17 with Miss Michael and Miz Diamond Wigfall. Tickets for that event can be purchased here.
