Peabody Trucking Company Yard Fire Reaches 2 Alarms

The Tuesday night fire at Gurrisi Trucking on Corwin Street occurred around the time of a lightning storm in the area.

PEABODY, MA — A smoky fire that raged through the yard of a trucking company in Peabody reached two alarms Tuesday before crews got the blaze under control.

Multiple emergency services reporting sources said that the fire occurred at the rear of Gurrisi Trucking on Corwin Street and included trash, dumpsters and vehicles.

The fire broke out about the time that a lightning storm moved through the area at around 9 p.m.

WHDH-TV reported that firefighters struggled to get water to the area that was hundreds of yards away from the nearest line.
