Peabody TV Grabs More Awards

Peabody's public access station gets further nods from community media festival judges this fall.

simply weren't enough for Peabody's public access station, it just took home five more awards for excellence in programming from a regional contest this fall.

announced earlier this month that after competing in the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Regional Fall Video Festival, the judges awarded PAT with the 2011 Outstanding Achievement in Public, Education and Government Access Award.

The award essentially ranks PAT as the best community media station of its size in a budget category of $250,000-$500,000. The entry that helped snag the award was a near 27-minute compilation of various programming from the past year, including everything from brief clips of the International Festival and Peabody's Memorial Day parade to regular programs such as "You Make the Call" and "From the Corner Office" and a couple public service announcements.

The top regional billing follows the national award PAT received at the ACM National Hometown Video Awards this summer. The latest award will be formally presented in Springfield on Nov. 12 at the ACM Northeast Region Conference.

“PAT is rapidly becoming a leader in providing local content to Peabody residents and these awards underscore the hard work and dedication of all of our producers,” said Camille Bartlett, the executive director of PAT, in the announcement.
