Peach Running For Peabody City Council Seat

The Peabody Veterans Memorial High alumna will run for Ward 3 seat held by James Moutsoulas.

PEABODY, MA — Stephanie Peach is running for the Peabody Ward 3 City Council seat, citing what she said is a need for "responsive elected officials" and a "different perspective on the City Council."

The seat is currently held by James Moutsoulas.

"After speaking with many residents and business owners in the ward, I decided to run," Peach said in a statement to Patch. "I would like to sincerely thank Councilor Moutsoulas for his decades of service to the city of Peabody.

"This campaign is not against anyone, but for the people of Peabody. I believe a different perspective and voice on the city council will be beneficial as we advance as a city."

The Peabody Veterans Memorial High alumna said she will focus on being accessible to residents in Ward 3, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.

She said she intends to spend the next several months speaking with residents and businesses to better understand their needs amid the coronavirus health crisis.

"COVID will certainly change the way we campaign," she said, "but I will make every effort to meet with the people of Ward and hear their concerns."
