Police: Drunk Driving Arrest, 10 Tickets Issued For Handicapped Parking Violations, Road Rage Incident

Excerpts from the Peabody Police Department log.

Friday, March 13
At 5:24 p.m., report of a fight on progress at Diamond Auto Body on Washington Street. A past employee was trying to collect past wages. He was advised by officers not to return.
At 9:52 p.m., motor vehicle stop on Andover Street. Driver cited for failure to use turn directional.
Saturday, March 14
At 12:15 a.m., operating under the influence on Walnut Street. Caller reported a hit and run accident. Suspect vehicle was described as a Ford pickup truck. Another caller described a pickup truck in a snowbank. Luis Vasquez, 54, of Salem, was arrested on Main Street for leaving the scene of property damage and operating under the influence of liquor.
At 1:04 a.m., disturbance on Pleasant Street. Report of a group of people in the street fighting.
At 10:07 a.m., road rage incident on Route 128 north and Lowell Street. Caller reported that he had an incident with a driver who threw something in his vehicle. Reporting party told officers he did not wish to make a report. A third-party caller stated that she had witnessed the incident and she stated that the operator of one of the vehicle’s was cutting people off on the highway. She stated that she has some of the incident on video.
At 1:08 p.m., motor vehicle accident with injuries on Lowell Street. Vehicle into a guardrail. Driver was transported to an area hospital. There was significant damage to the guardrail.
At 2:19 p.m., larceny at AT&T. Suspect stole a Samsung cell phone valued at $650 from a store display.
At 11:20 p.m., overdose on Washington Street. Two people passed on a car. Two people transported to different hospitals.
Sunday, March 15
At 11:56 a.m., identity fraud on Pine Grove on Newbury Street. Party came in to report that a cell phone account was opened in his name without his authority.
At 12:57 p.m., attempted burglary into a business on Lowell Street.
At 6:03 p.m., break and enter motor vehicle at Macy’s. Walk-in party reported her laptop was stolen from her vehicle on March 14 when she was parked at Macy’s
At 11:23 p.m., vandalism on Crane Brook Drive. Reports that two youths smashed a vehicle with a trash barrel. When she yelled at them, they fled. Officer reported that the driver’s side window and windshield were smashed. Multiple attempts, with the assistance of other agencies were futile in attempting to locate the youths.
Monday, March 16
At 9:00 a.m., assist citizen on Park Street. Car into the snowbank,no damage. Officer shut down the roadway due to the icy road condition. DPW notified and roadway was sanded.
At 11:15 a.m., parking enforcement at Northshore Mall. Ten handicapped parking tickets issued.
