Police: Juvenile Drunk Driving Arrest; Couple Locked In Behind Country Club Gate; Fraudulent Checks Deposited

Monday, June 15

At 2:58 p.m., woman walked into the station to report stated that there was a male party walking around the Rockdale Avenue area offering free home cleaning.

At 3:21 p.m., fraud reported at Luso American Credit union on Tremont Street. An employee would like to report possible fraudulent checks was deposited into the bank. Two checks totaling $3982.11. Officer will document.

At 5:40 p.m., shoplifting at JCPenney. Tamra A. Covill,24, of Peabody, was arrested for shoplifting.

At 8:23 p.m., fire department requesting police to assist with a couple of people locked behind the gate.at Salem Country Club on Forrest Street. Officer stated the parties checked out, and the firefighters let the parties out.

At 8:57 p.m., motor vehicle accident on Central Street and Tremont Street. Vehicle struck a traffic sign at the intersection. DPS was notified. No injuries reported.

At 10:03 p.m., car into a house on Surrey Lane. Car into a house the driver fled the scene toward the Burke School. Driver left the license plate and bumper at accident scene, then walked back to the house. Male juvenile arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and marked lanes violation.

At 6:27 a.m., larceny at Jaguar/Land Rover of Peabody on Newbury Street. Miscellaneous construction items were stolen/missing when crew arrived for work.

At 7:43 a.m., past assault at the high school reported. Officer will document the incident and forward the information to the school resource officer.

At 11:20 a.m., DPS callout in area of Container Store on Andover Street. Catch basin was sinking into the ground. Mall security was notified of the issue.
