Police Log: Child Struck by a Motor Vehicle, Assault Investigated and Wallet Found

Tuesday, Oct. 28

At 2:30 p.m., officer issued a written warning for a school bus violation on Central Street.

At 2:40 p.m., wallet found in a bathroom reported at Lahey Health and MedicaL Center. Wakefield Police will attempt to notify owner.

At 2:41 p.m., 911 caller reported a motorcycle accident with possible serious injuries on Route 128 south, Exit 28. Motorcycle driver transported to a Boston hospital. State police investigated.

At 2:55 p.m., officer issued a written warning to a motorist on First Avenue for failure to stop for a pedestrian.

At 3:30 p.m., police received a report that a child was struck by a motor vehicle on Washington Street. The officers arrived and stated that the child was up and off the ground. The officer picked up the parent of the child involved. Parent and child transported back home.

At 6:05 p.m, party walked into police department to report an injury to her little sister from the Big Sister Association inflicted by her boyfriend at school. Officer documented and forwarded to the school officer at Higgins.

At 7:40 p.m., police investigated an assault and battery on Lynn Street. Party reported an altercation that occurred at 5 p.m. with a coworker at Velez Brothers Trucking Company. Party did not want to press charges, wanted the altercation documented.

At 7:53 p.m., police received a report of shoplifting at JCPenney. Amy Rivas-Castillo, 18, of Chelsea, was arrested and charged with shoplifting over $100 and concealing merchandise.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

At 11:14 a.m., accident reported at Route 128 north and Centennial Drive. State police investigated.

At 11:57 a.m., police investigated a two-vehicle accident on Newbury and Lowell streets. One person transported to an area hospital.

At 12:15 p.m., police investigated reports of threats by a customer made at the Bank of America on Andover Street. Customer left the bank. Officer will attempt to speak to the suspect and will advise him that he is no longer wanted at the bank.

At 12:45 p.m., a bus driver reported a vicious dog that was loose in the school bus parking lot on Pulaski Street. Dog barricaded bus drivers in their buses The animal control officer stated the dog was not vicious and the owner (that works at East Coast Alpine) was on scene. Verbal warning was issued to the dog owner.
