Officer called party back and reiterated that the notice is sent out to give dog owners the “heads-up” that someone is complaining. It is an allegation. Caller confirmed she does not know the complaining party and related that the next-door-neighbor’s dog spends a lot of time in its yard and barks excessively. I advised caller that PAC is not obligated to send a warning to license. The warning she received was a courtesy. Officer also related that the animal control officer had done two area checks, since the notice was sent out and did not witness her dog barking.
