'Pride In Peabody' Cleanup Day Set For April
The citywide volunteer cleanup event will take place on April 30.
PEABODY, MA —Peabody will get a bit of a glow up in time for the warmer weather during a citywide "Pride in Peabody Spring Volunteer Community Cleanup" on April 30.
Individual and groups of volunteers are sought for the event that will take place rain or shine.
"Many of us who grew up in Peabody remember the deep feelings of pride which came with being part of this unique community," Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt said. "As mayor, I want a new generation to feel that their hometown is a special place to live, work, go to school and raise a family."

Volunteers are asked to meet up at City Hall between 10 a.m. and noon to pick up cleaning supplies and a "Pride in Peabody Community Cleanup" T-shirt. JRM will provide the shirts.
Volunteers will then fan out across the city looking for any trash, brush or other debris left over from the winter.

"Pride in Peabody clean-ups are wonderful occasions to get together with family, friends and neighbors and do something positive and constructive towards making Peabody an even better place," Bettencourt said. "After a long winter, the city needs a good spring cleaning, and it will get one on April 30."
