Rash Of Car Break-Ins Plagues Peabody

PEABODY, MA -- Police have received 14 reports of car break-ins in Peabody since Thursday, and the actual number could be much higher as the crime often goes unreported. Most of the break-ins have been in South Peabody, according to a post on the Peabody Police Facebook page.

Peabody Police believe the break-ins may be the work of a single man, who was seen riding a bike in a surveillance video taken on Hillside Avenue. Several cras were broken into on the street Friday night. Other North Shore communities, including Lynn, have seen a spike in reported car break-ins over the course of the past week.
