South Branch of Peabody Institute Library presents Barbara Kremer's artwork

South Branch of Peabody Institute Library presents Barbara Kremer's original paintings in limited-time art show.

The South Branch of the Peabody Institute Library is continuing its support of local artists with a new showing of paintings by Peabody artist Barbara Kremer. Eleven examples of her art are now on display in the library, located at 78 Lynn St. These paintings are all available for purchase, but will only be on display for a limited time through the fall.

The South Branch is thrilled to feature another Peabody artist. This collection includes watercolors that depict the local North Shore landscape and European scenes. This show is an example of the Library’s commitment to supporting and partnering with the community.

Barbara Kremer is an award-winning watercolor artist who has studied with several other award-winning artists, including internationally recognized Thomas Wells Schaller and Alvaro Castagnet. She paints year-round, but is a three-season plein air painter, stating “the challenge of en plein air is both creatively and emotionally inspiring and allows me to enter a zone where I become totally immersed in nature, the environment, and my painting.” Her watercolors are bold with a strong sense of light and dark and a freedom that translates into spontaneity in her work. She has been featured in several galleries throughout the North Shore. Ms. Kremer has also been a teacher of English as a Second Language, a school director, and is currently an adjunct faculty at North Shore Community College. Although she has always loved teaching, paining became her passion for the moment she picked up paint and brush.
