State Inspection Finds Big Problems At Peabody Nursing Home

The Department of Public Health ordered CareOne at Peabody to stop admitting new residents.

PEABODY, MA -- The Massachusetts Department of Public Health barred CareOne at Peabody from taking on new residents following an inspection that found "immediate jeopardy" for residents at the nursing home. The state has since lifted the immediate jeopardy designation, but the restriction on new admissions will remain in place until the facility shows it has made the necessary changes to remain in compliance with federal rules.

The Department of Public Health declined to release details from the Nov. 7 inspection, according to the Salem News, which first reported this story. The nursing home remains open and continues to care for residents that were already living there before the inspection.
