Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness on Mothers Day

Salem is also hosting the third annual North Shore Folk Festival.

It’s Friday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Where/When: The James E. McVann-Louis F. O'Keefe Memorial Skating Rink, every Friday from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why go: Great opportunity for families to enjoy skating and to teach little ones who to skate.

Pricing: Children 10 and under cost $3; youth and adults, $5, and skate rentals are $6.

Where/When: 32 Derby Square, Salem, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: Offers Peabody area residents a chance to see several North Shore folk muscians perform outside near Old Salem Town Hall right next door in the Witch City. Here is the complete line up of performers.

Where/when: Peabody Bikeway, 15 Northshore Road, 8:30 a.m.

Why go: The Flip Flop Friends are pleased to announce a Mother's Day Walk along the Independence Greenway Bike Path to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for cancer research. The six mile walk will begin at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Kiley Administration Building located on 21 Johnson St. 

Pricing: A $10 donation per walker or $25 donation per family is much appreciated.

Where/When: Peabody Bikeway entrance is located on North Shore Road behind the Northshore Mall and is open every day..Now that spring is in full swing, this weekend is the perfect time for families to break out their bicycles and cruise up and down the Peabody Bikepath and get some exercise.

Why go: Well-maintained, city facility offers families a safe and enjoyable place to enjoy bicycling.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Brooksby Farm is located in West Peabody on Felton Street and is open seven days a week daily.

Why go: Farm offers a quiet, rural setting where families can reconnect with Peabody's agricultural roots, picnic and hike nature trails.
