• Pembroke Select Board Reorganizes Housing Leadership and Clears Path for Veterans Park Funding (southshore.news subscription) — Pembroke’s Select Board has moved to fully activate the town’s Affordable Housing Trust by appointing a board representative and reshaping committee terms for stability. Members also unanimously renamed the town common parcel as “Veterans Memorial Park on the Town Common,” clearing a bureaucratic hurdle to pursue state and federal grants for park restoration. 
• Kayaker rescued from lake in Pembroke (newportdispatch.com) — A Pembroke police officer used a rowboat to rescue a kayaker whose vessel overturned in rough conditions late Sunday morning, leaving him without a life jacket and repeatedly disappearing from view. After being towed safely to shore, the man was evaluated by Pembroke Fire and declined further treatment, saying he’d been in the water about 20 minutes.
