2 Arrested In Plymouth Shooting, Manhunt Continues

Plymouth police made two arrests in connection to a shooting outside the Algonquin Terrace housing complex on Samoset Street.​

PLYMOUTH, MA — Two people have been arrested in connection to a shooting at a Plymouth housing complex. Schericia Barber, 37, of Plymouth, and Siron Cromwell-Harrison, 25, homeless, were taken into custody Thursday after police said they were involved in a shooting Wednesday morning in the parking lot of the Algonquin Terrace housing complex on Samoset Street.

Barber was charged with two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, possessing ammunition without an FID card and possessing a large-capacity firearm in a vehicle. Cromwell-Harrison was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, committing a firearm violation with one prior violent or drug crime, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.

Police said they also found two handguns at the scene.

The manhunt for more suspects continues following the arrests. Police Chief Michael Botieri told reporters Wednesday that authorities were looking for six to eight suspects.

The shooting occurred just before 10 a.m. outside the housing complex. Police said when they arrived they saw two people run away into another apartment complex on Marc Drive. SWAT officers and FBI officials were called to help.

A 35-year-old Plymouth man was arrested when witnesses told police he was involved in the shooting. He has since been released from custody.

"He was in fact at the shooting but not actually involved in firing a weapon," Police Chief Michael Botieri told reporters.

Seven Plymouth schools were placed in a protective "safe mode." Those schools included Plymouth North High School, Nathanial Morton Elementary School, West Elementary School, Plymouth Early Childhood Center, Cold Spring Elementary, Hedge Elementary and Plymouth Community Intermediate School. They were released from school 30 minutes late.
