Plymouth Manhunt For Up To 8 Suspects After Shooting
A Plymouth shooting at the Algonquin Terrace apartment complex involved two rival groups, Police Chief Michael Botieri said.

PLYMOUTH, MA — Police are searching for as many as eight suspects following a shooting at a Plymouth housing complex. The shooting occurred just before 10 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Algonquin Terrace housing complex on Samoset Street. Police said when they arrived they saw two people running into an apartment complex on Marc Drive. SWAT officers and FBI officials were called to help.
A 35-year-old Plymouth man was arrested when witnesses told police he was involved in the shooting. He has since been released from custody.
"He was in fact at the shooting but not actually involved in firing a weapon," Police Chief Michael Botieri told reporters.

The other person seen running was not located. Police said they have learned the identities of two other suspects, one of whom witnesses saw at the Walgreens on Samoset Street. Botieri said a gun from one of the suspects was found at the store. Police showed reporters a picture of one of the suspects but did not release his name.
Botieri said the shooting was between two groups of people and was not a random act. He said it likely involved a group of six to eight people, but added he does not believe there's any danger to the public.

"This was a complex situation because it was at several locations," Botieri said.
Seven Plymouth schools were placed in a protective "safe mode." Those schools included Plymouth North High School, Nathanial Morton Elementary School, West Elementary School, Plymouth Early Childhood Center, Cold Spring Elementary, Hedge Elementary and Plymouth Community Intermediate School. They were released from school 30 minutes late.
