Where Were You During the Blizzard of '78?

Those of us who weren't around have heard the tales of the Blizzard of '78.
How the entire city of Boston was closed for a week, people were stuck at the Boston Garden where they had been watching the Beanpot Hockey Tournament, recalled forme consession stand worker Rich Fahey in 2008:
About 200 storm refugees were being rounded up and brought to the Blades and Boards Club underneath the Garden. There were very few women - the vast majority having too much common sense to attend a hockey game during a blizzard, or not to leave when warned to do so.

Of course, for me, the closest sources are my parents and brothers who did expierience the blizzard. My brother, Kevin, shared stories about being out of school for two weeks, and of snow piled to the roof.
My dad, however, was always much more blase. "It wasn't that bad here," he used to say. "The snow barely came up to the porch railing."
