Boston, MA, July 2nd, 2012 - Almost 500 regional permaculture designers, teachers, and growers will converge for a weekend of speakers, workshops, local food, music and fun on July 13th - 15th at Soule Homestead, a working farm and education center in Middleborough, MA.

Permaculture has been receiving national attention at The White HouseOccupy Movements and The New York Times at a time where local food systems and economies is an increasingly popular topic. The permaculture community is a global movement – there are over 1 million practitioners, with over 5,000 projects in more than 140 countries. This event will generate renewed energy into local permaculture projects while broadening skills and knowledge in the northeast region.

Permaculture is a design system that combines Green Architecture, Renewable Energy, Alternative Waste Management, Nature-Based Education, Renewable Transportation, Alternative Economies, Agroforestry, Organic Agriculture, Community Living, Social Justice, BioDynamics, Edible Forest Gardening, and more into a coherent whole that allow us to plan and create productive, cost-effective, and regenerative systems for truly sustainable homes, businesses, and communities.
